Andy Rourke: This Charming Man

Smokey Angle Shades – And You Tied A Ribbon On It (single premiere)

Smokey Angle Shades are: Pat Dam Smyth and Brian Russell, from Northern Ireland, Ned Crowther from England and Antonio Feola from Italy.
The group was formed when members of The Fools, 747s, Pat Dam Smyth and The Fernweh joined forces in Berlin for a week of shows and song writing that laid out the blueprints for their sound and approach: an appreciation of a good tune, blended vocal harmonies, and a dynamic stage show. The band continued to write new music and tour the UK, Europe and America, building a cult following after festival appearances at Glastonbury, South By Southwest, the Goodlife Experience and Secret Garden Party.
The band’s debut album, Shades of Joy was released in 2015 to wide acclaim and was selected by Cerys Matthew’s as her BBC 6 music artist pick. Now the group is back with a new single and album on the way, and their own record label, Europa Sun.

For his second studio album, Biscuit Barrel Fashion, he moved to Alan McGee’s Poptones label.
