Siamo, è noto, nel pieno di una vera e propria Irish invasion. Non ci riferiamo esclusivamente alle imprese musicali a noi ormai famigliari di Fontaines D.C., Murder Capital, Lankum, Pillow Queens e Gilla Band, ma anche ai romanzi di Sally Rooney e Paul Lynch (fresco vincitore di Booker Prize con Il Canto del Profeta), ai film di Martin McDonagh (avete visto in particolare il suo recente e bellissimo Gli Spiriti dell’Isola?), alla consacrazione di un attore come Paul Mescal, restando ai nomi di cui abbiamo tenuto traccia nei nostri taccuini.

PINHDAR are an Italian duo composed of singer Cecilia Miradoli and guitarist/producer Max Tarenzi. Born out of experiences in the rock band Nomoredolls and the organization of the international musical festival A Night Like This, they explore the fusion of trip-hop, dark wave, and electronica with originality, influenced by the Bristol scene. Their eponymous debut EP in 2019 received praise from the British critics, with the single Toy broadcasted on major radios like KEXP. In 2021, they released their first album, Parallel, with the collaboration of legendary producer Howie B, published by Fruits de Mer Records.
The European tour included prestigious venues such as Stereolux in Nantes and Dr Sardonicus Psych Fest in the UK. In the summer of 2023, during their UK tour, they completed the new album A Sparkle On The Dark Water (set for release on March 22nd 2024) with producer Bruno Ellingham, a former Massive Attack and Portishead collaborator. While they were working on the album in England, PINHDAR met James Johnston. The London-based painter and musician, known for founding Gallon Drunk and collaborating with artists such as Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, Lydia Lunch, Faust, and currently touring with PJ Harvey, honors them by gifting the image of one of his paintings for use as the cover of their new record.

Spazio Marte è un luogo multifunzionale a cinque minuti dalla Stazione Ferroviaria di Cesena, pensato per teatro e arti visive ma che ultimamente ha ospitato concerti di band come i Phat Dat grazie all’associazione Retro Pop Live. E qui si svolge l’ultima data del tour italiano di Any Other, che in Aprile porterà il suo terzo disco, Stillness, Stop: You Have A Right To Remember (42 Records) in Germania, Francia e Regno Unito – giustificando, se ce ne fosse bisogno, l’ottimo riscontro critico avuto su testate quali Bedroom Disco e Uncut.

Belgian (of Dutch origin) artist Chantal Acda needs absolutely no introduction. Her earlier musical odysseys, including Sleepingdog, her project in conjunction with Adam Wiltzie of Stars of The Lid (Naked in a Clean Bed, 2006, Polar Life, 2008 and Whit Our Heads In The Clouds And Our Hearts In The Fields, 2011), her solo albums, Let Your Hands be My Guide (2013), The Sparkle In Our Flaws (2015), Bounce Back (2017), Puwawau (2019) and Saturday Moon (2021), and her collaborations with Chris Eckman and Eric Thielemans (as Distance, Light & Sky, Casting Nets, 2014, and Gold Coast, 2018), the dutch poet Lotte Dodion (Nu Nog Even Niet – #1 & #2, 2018), Bill Frisell (Live At Jazz Middelheim, 2018), and Bruno Bavota (A Closer Distance, 2022) has resonated with audiences worldwide.
